Logistics Partnership Delivers Nationwide Reach for Casual Day 2025

Johannesburg – The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) has acknowledged RTT Couriers for their total sponsorship of logistics services during the 2025 Casual Day campaign, with the courier company confirming its continued support for the 2026 campaign. This partnership enabled the delivery of merchandise and materials to thousands of participants across South Africa.

Between 1 May and 5 September 2025, RTT completed 4,555 deliveries comprising 4,899 parcels to schools, universities, government departments, churches, companies, retailers and communities nationwide. During the collection phase from 6 September 2025 to 31 January 2026, the courier service managed 338 deliveries of 419 parcels, primarily collecting unsold merchandise and stickers from participants.

“Without RTT’s support, we simply couldn’t achieve the geographic reach that Casual Day requires,” said Louis Botha, Casual Day Project Manager. “Their teams moved stickers, promotional materials and merchandise to every corner of the country, making it possible for communities in metros and rural areas alike to participate. This wasn’t just about moving boxes—it was about connecting people to a cause that changes lives.”

Since its establishment in 1994, Casual Day has raised over R455.4 million across 30 years, supporting NCPD’s network of 665 organisations, 554 mainstream schools, 418 NPOs, and 184 LSEN centres. The campaign funds projects ranging from advocacy work and policy influence to specialised support services, economic empowerment initiatives, and programmes addressing the needs of persons with disabilities across all nine provinces.

Partnerships like RTT’s sponsorship matter because they multiply impact. Every rand saved on logistics translates directly into expanded services for the disability sector. More importantly, the reliability of a professional courier service gives participating organisations confidence that their orders will arrive on time and their unsold items will be collected efficiently.

RTT’s involvement extended beyond standard courier operations. Their network reached remote communities where conventional delivery services often do not operate, ensuring schools in rural provinces and small-town community groups could participate equally with major corporate partners. This geographic equity is fundamental to Casual Day’s mission of nationwide disability awareness.

The scale of the operation—nearly 5,000 outbound parcels followed by hundreds of collection runs—required meticulous coordination between RTT’s logistics teams and NCPD’s campaign teams. Timing was critical, particularly during the peak participation period in August and September, when schools and companies needed materials delivered before Casual Day events.

“RTT understood that these weren’t ordinary parcels,” Botha added. “Each delivery represented a school planning their Casual Day event, a company rallying their staff, or a community group organising their fundraiser. The professionalism and care their drivers showed made our participants feel valued. We’re grateful they’ve committed to continuing this partnership for Casual Day 2026.”

RTT’s renewal of its sponsorship ensures that NCPD can plan the 2026 campaign with the same operational capacity and nationwide reach that made 2025 successful, guaranteeing no community is excluded from participating in South Africa’s largest disability fundraising initiative.
