A Year of Resilience and Shared Purpose: A Message of Gratitude

Dear Partners, Sponsors, and Friends of the NCPD,

As we approach the end of 2025, I find myself reflecting on the incredible power of community. At the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), our mission is driven by people who care—those who invest their time, resources, and hearts into creating a more inclusive South Africa.

We cannot conclude 2025 without acknowledging the strategic partners who stand by us in the pursuit of justice. A heartfelt thank you to Norton Rose Fulbright and Webber Wentzel for your unwavering support with compliance and litigation, ensuring that inclusion is not just an ideal but a legal reality.

To our funders, partners, and every single Casual Day participant: you are the fuel that keeps us moving. In the complete absence of government funding, your contributions are more than just financial support—they are a lifeline that enables us to reach out and make a tangible difference in the lives of persons with disabilities across the country.

The Voices That Guide Us

Our mandate is strengthened every year by the voices of those we serve. This year was particularly significant as we integrated 1,846 lived experiences shared through the structured D20 workstreams. These stories define our steps and ensure that our work remains rooted in the actual challenges of our community.

A Tribute to Our Staff

The NCPD’s greatest treasure is undoubtedly our staff. You are the troopers who, despite the immense pressure of a reduced team following the COVID-19 pandemic, continue to find innovative ways to tackle challenges. Your passion and commitment are the backbone of this organisation, and I am profoundly grateful for your dedication.

The Path Ahead

While we celebrate our successes, we must remain honest about the road ahead. The demand for our services continues to grow alongside South Africa’s population and the increasing need for advocacy in a challenging economic climate. Currently, our income has yet to return to close to our pre-pandemic levels.

As we look toward the new year, I invite you to continue this journey with us. Your support—whether through partnership, sponsorship, or participation—is what will allow us to restore our capacity and expand our reach to meet the growing needs of our fellow citizens.
